Soul Mass Transit System Joins Forces With Gimme A Break Records

Gimme A Break Records is thrilled to announce the addition of Soul Mass Transit System (SMTS) to their esteemed roster for the label's highly anticipated third physical release. Renowned for their standout productions and ever-building community in 2 Step, Speed Garage, Bassline, Breakbeat, and Jungle, D. Jason and Baby J. have consistently delivered outstanding music since their 'Original Bad Bwoy' EP launched Shall Not Fade's Time Is Now sub-label.

SMTS has an impressive discography that includes releases on prominent labels such as Locked On Records, Instinct, ec2a, Local Action, and Ministry of Sound. Their memorable sets playing out and eclectic productions have earned them a nomination as "Breakthrough Producer" in DJ Mag's esteemed Best of British Awards in 2022. Collaborating with the likes of Bklava, DJ Q, Jamie Boy Bassline, and Killa P, and recently joining 23 Degrees Artists while launching their own label, Grand Soul Central, SMTS has become a household name in the UK's underground electronic scene.

GAB003, the latest release from Soul Mass Transit System, showcases them at the peak of their powers. The record kicks off with the mesmerizing hybrid of Breakbeat and UKG titled "Wait No More." This track artfully combines introspective vocals and harmonies with a crisp rolling break and a devastating bassline. "Lovin Me" follows, offering an equally poignant 2-step composition that features SMTS's signature Reese bass.

On the flip side, listeners will discover two highly sought-after tracks produced by the Yorkshire duo. "Real Love (Mercy Mix)" presents a masterclass in speed garage production, garnering support from esteemed artists like Enzo Siragusa and Sage Introspekt. And finally, "Fly" delivers the long-awaited Organ House/UKG crossover that the UK's electronic music scene has been yearning for since the success of "B.O.T.A." Initially featured in Main Phase's viral Keep Hush set for ec2a in February 2022, fans will undoubtedly rejoice as "Fly" finally sees the light of day.

Soul Mass Transit System's arrival at Gimme A Break Records marks an exciting new chapter for both the label and the talented duo.
