Australian alt-rockers Rum Jungle are gearing up for their debut album Recency Bias, due out February 21st, 2025. Ahead of the release, the band shares their new single “What’s It Like”—a raw, honest track that captures the complexity of feeling unworthy of love, even when it’s offered unconditionally.
Vocalist/guitarist Benny McIntyre explains, “‘What’s It Like’ is about the miracle of being loved even when you don’t love yourself. We kept it simple—just the right touches to let the lyrics and melody shine, with brooding bass and glitchy guitar that build to give the song its emotional weight.”
This latest single comes just as Rum Jungle prepares for their highly anticipated tour of Australia, the US, and Canada. Their Australian dates are already selling out fast, and their upcoming North American tour is following suit. With a diverse and eclectic sound blending indie guitars, slow ballads, punk energy, and even 60s-inspired elements, Recency Bias reflects the band’s evolution as they explore new creative territories.
“Each song we create becomes our new favorite, and that’s exactly how Recency Bias came to be,” says Benny. “This album is a reflection of where we are now as musicians, with all of our influences and experiences coming together.”
For fans lucky enough to snag tickets, the band will be hitting cities across Australia and North America—check the dates below before they’re gone!
