Masego Shares New EP 'Studying Abroad'
Following the success of his 2018 debut album Lady Lady, jazz musician, producer and vocalist Masego returns with his all-new, dreamy EP Studying Abroad.
The six tracks unravel Masego's longing to go elsewhere, reflecting on a world that is incredibly different to where we are right now. Using the album to create the sound of escapism - whilst intertwining his self-titled, distinct style of "TrapHouseJazz" - this EP enriches danceable rhythms with melodic hooks throughout. Masego also joins forces with two musicians for this EP; Jamaican musician Shenseea for track Silver Tongue Devil, and rapper Don Toliver for Mystery Discussing the making of the EP and its first single Passport, Masego said: "I wrote ‘Passport’ from my 21-year-old perspective, when I was in Virginia, very eager to get out of where I was at. I feel like when I got my passport, I received so much growth in my life".
