LOCK-IN, the dynamic quintet hailing from Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, is gearing up for a colossal 2024. The childhood friends are making waves as they announce their most significant London headline show at Lafayette on April 27th, a precursor to what promises to be an extraordinary year. Tickets for the anticipated event are already available.
Kicking off the excitement, LOCK-IN drops their latest single, 'Red Stripe Remedy,' today, paving the way for their second EP, 'On To The Next,' scheduled for release on January 19th, 2024.
'Red Stripe Remedy' marks a significant milestone in LOCK-IN's journey toward becoming a breakout sensation in the indie-pop and alternative scenes. The track seamlessly blends groove-laden rhythms, a dazzling central guitar riff, melancholy synth textures, and an anthemic hook that transcends across the sonic spectrum. Vocalist Benjy Leak's distinctive style narrates the experiences of a generation not merely living for the weekend but striving until the end of the workday: "Lost in the 9-5, we only work to stay alive."
Benjy shares, "At the end of the day, we're all working our hardest—chasing dreams, making ends meet, or fighting underlying battles. We're all human, and we have to find love somewhere along the way. That's life, as the lyric goes."
'Red Stripe Remedy' follows this summer's hit 'Easy' as a teaser for the upcoming five-track EP, 'On To The Next.' Representing a remarkable leap forward from their debut, 'Boys Kiss Boys,' the EP showcases LOCK-IN's evolution in songwriting and musicianship, setting the stage for their ascent to bigger platforms in the months ahead.
The EP, entirely written by LOCK-IN, was crafted in collaboration with producer Curtis Elvidge of Ritual Sounds, recorded during sessions at Premises Studio in Hackney.
LOCK-IN, comprised of Benjy Leak (vocals), Joe Leak (lead guitar), Angus Moore (guitar), Sam Collins (bass), and Ollie Stacey (drums), has garnered a dedicated following in the live arena. Known for headlining at major festivals like Truck, Y Not?, The Great Escape, and more, the band has experienced a phenomenal growth in their London headline shows, evolving from Water Rats to Omeara to The Garage, and now Lafayette.
As LOCK-IN prepares to embark on their journey into 2024, they carry the mantra 'On To The Next,' symbolizing their relentless pursuit of dreams and the courage to embrace the next chapter.
Stay tuned for another remarkable stride in LOCK-IN's trajectory as they continue to captivate audiences with their refreshing sound and magnetic stage presence.
