Kai-Otee: Tracks That Shaped Our Sound
Kai-Otee are an Alt/Rock Duo from Nottingham, putting our own spin on the tried and tested genre, delivering raw energy and massive riffs with a sprinkle of fun. Their latest single 'About It All' is due to be released November 10th 2023 and has already been well received on BBC Radio, being included on BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Nottingham's 'C Rotation'.
Frustrations and tensions are released in our music and we embrace the chaos in the writing process. Influenced by Royal Blood, The Prodigy, Arctic monkeys and Cage the Elephant.
Track Name: About It All
Royal Blood – Little Monster
We’ve always been a fan of big, beefy riffs and the bass line in our latest track is inspired by Royal Blood’s fuzzy/distorted sounds, sliding all over the fretboard getting some wicked sounds out of his guitar.
Cage The Elephant – Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked
They’ve got some pretty kooky sounds in their songs but some of our favourite moments from Cage is when everything is stripped back, they manage to get a full sound with the base instruments and it’s definitely played into some of our song writing.
The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You
Our track’s chorus was originally 4 chords and some ‘woos’ which is probably the result of covering this song at gigs. The song is so laid back but has that energy driving it all the way through.
Arctic Monkeys – Dancing Shoes
What alternative/indie band isn’t going to say Arctic Monkeys have inspired their sound? This song in particular has lots of parts moving the song and riffs that keep things interesting, headed by Alex Turner’s twanging vocals of course.
