Josh Holmes: The Pop-Punk Sensation Captivating Audiences Worldwide

Warwickshire-based pop-punk artist Josh Holmes is making waves once again with his latest single, “Hey You.” Known for his authentic lyrical narratives, electrifying stage presence, and catchy choruses, Holmes continues to evolve his sound while captivating audiences across the globe. *“Hey You”* is a vibrant exploration of a growing relationship, brought to life with explosive drum beats, driving guitar lines, and Holmes’s dynamic vocal performance.

Fresh off a co-headlining tour in Indonesia, where he connected with jubilant crowds and immersed himself in the local music scene, Josh is now back on home soil, leaving a significant mark on the UK festival circuit. With over 700,000 streams globally and support from outlets like Music Crowns, FAME Magazine, and BBC Introducing, Josh Holmes is a name to watch as he continues to deliver his energetic brand of pop-punk to the world.

1. "Hey You" captures the intensifying emotions of a growing relationship with its vibrant sound. Can you walk us through the creative process behind the track and what inspired its energetic soundscape?

This track is the first release to come out of a writing trip I did last year just before I went out on tour. We had a villa in Bali and I took some of my friends to spend a few days writing. Being away from reality made me think more about the things I was missing and what I sometimes take for granted back home. This was the first song we wrote on the trip and we wrote it super quickly, and I think our excitement of the track really comes across in the energy you here in the studio version

2. You recently completed a co-headlining tour in Indonesia, where you connected with local music scenes and shared insights on the UK’s live music industry. How did this international experience influence your music and perspective as an artist?

I think as local artists in the UK, we're so caught up in the UK music scene that we forget about the rest of the world. Personally, I'd never considered the possibility of an international tour. So being able to make that leap and see that people around the world enjoy my music was highly motivating, and it was also interesting to learn about the industry in another country. The industry is massively different, and I started to see things I wish the UK music scene had, but also was able to talk to Indonesian musicians about what the UK scene is like so they can improve their live music scene as well.

3. With over 700,000 streams globally and support from platforms like BBC Introducing, how has the response to your music shaped your approach to creating and performing?

I recently moved to more of a pop punk style and the response started to get so much stronger with these releases, so I decided that style was a better fit for me as a musician. I think the response has really impacted performing more than anything, knowing that there's people that really like the music gives me a lot more confidence to stand on a stage and perform to people.

4. Having performed at major UK festivals like Godiva Festival, what are some of your most memorable moments on stage, and how do these live experiences influence your songwriting?

My most memorable moment on stage was the first show of the Indonesia tour. This was a huge milestone in my career, the first time I was playing live with a band, and also a sell out show. Learning about how people respond to my tracks was really interesting, while it hasn't influenced my songwriting just yet, if I feel my live set is missing a certain type of song, I would write something to fill the gap. I want to make sure that the live show is the best it can possibly be which starts by having a strong set list.

5. As you continue to grow your brand of pop-punk, what can fans expect from you in the future, and how do you plan to keep evolving your sound and live performances?

I have just released a new single, Hey You, and have a couple more releases in the works. So, new music is on its way. I would love to be gigging more and trying to confirm plans for next year so hopefully I can start announcing some shows soon, initially in the UK but then back internationally when the time comes.
