Introducing: Wildchains

We spoke to Wildchains about the release of the acoustic version of their latest single, "Another Lie." This intimate reinterpretation of the original track. Exploring themes of existential crises and the search for answers. With raw vocals and a minimalist instrumental approach, the acoustic version offers an authentic and introspective listening experience. Here is how it went down!
1. What inspired you to revisit this track in such an intimate way?
Wizro: When we wrote “Another Lie”, it was always a song loaded with questions and emotion, but in the original version, it’s very energetic, almost like we’re trying to scream over the noise. I felt there was something deeper behind it, something fragile. So this version was a way to expose that vulnerability — strip everything back and let the words and melody breathe.
2. Can you share more about the themes of existential crises and self-discovery in this song?
Louro: Honestly, this song was born from a place of doubt and frustration. It’s about questioning everything you were taught to believe — religion, life, yourself. I’ve had my share of existential crises, and I think a lot of people go through that but don’t talk about it. Another Lie is basically me admitting I don’t have the answers, and maybe none of us do. But there’s also freedom in that.
3. How did you approach the recording process differently from the original?
Wizro: The whole process was way more raw. We recorded it almost like a live session — no big layers, no walls of sound. Just two guitars, a bass, a voice, and a few subtle elements to keep it intimate but powerful. We wanted every imperfection to stay, so it felt human and real.
4. How does this acoustic release fit into your broader artistic vision? Can we expect more stripped-down versions?
Wizro: Wildchains will always be a rock band at heart, but we’re not afraid to show different sides of what we do. We’re storytellers before anything else, and sometimes the story needs to be told quietly. I wouldn’t say this is the last time you’ll hear something stripped-down from us - when it makes sense, we’ll do it again.
5. What can you tell us about the music video concept?
Wizro: For this version, we wanted the video to reflect the peaceful yet questioning nature of the song. So we filmed it at the Santuário do Sameiro, in Braga, Portugal, (our hometown) in a simple, intimate setting — just us, sitting and playing together at sunset, between two angel statues. The scenery itself adds to the whole meaning of the song: this contrast between something spiritual and the feeling of doubt. It’s minimalistic but visually powerful, and it gives space for the music and the message to breathe.
