Introducing: Die Twice

Exeter’s alt-rock poets, Die Twice Today, have dropped their third EP, ‘A Beautiful Thing’, delivering an emotionally charged sonic experience that cements their rising star status. Featuring standout tracks like the atmospheric ‘Model’—a brooding exploration of self-image wrapped in dark basslines, layered guitars, and haunting synths—the EP is a masterclass in blending poetic storytelling with raw, alt-rock energy.

Barely out of their teens, the four-piece has already built a reputation for electrifying live shows, selling out Exeter’s Phoenix and dominating festival stages at Boardmasters and Wilderness. Now, with a UK headline tour set for November, they’re taking their soaring sound and punk-rock spirit nationwide.

Having won praise from BBC Introducing’s Jess Iszatt and XFM’s John Kennedy, Die Twice Today is poised to make serious waves in the UK music scene. Stream *‘A Beautiful Thing’* now, and don’t miss their explosive live performances this fall.

1. "Your new EP, 'A Beautiful Thing,' explores themes of self-image and the morning after with a darker, atmospheric soundscape. What inspired the lyrical direction for 'MODEL,' and how does it fit within the broader theme of the EP?"

The lyrical themes of “a beautiful thing” are observations of the world around me, questions, romanticism and self reflection. Olly: "With MODEL i wanted to explore the unspoken human side of modelling and how image tends to differ from the reality of it. It fits within the EP nicely as it relates to the other tracks' themes of vague storytelling and introspection."

2. "After a busy summer of festivals and sold-out shows, you're about to kick off a UK headline tour. How has the energy of live performances and connecting with fans influenced the music on this new EP?"

Our live shows are one of our favourite parts of being in the band. Every gig we play is unique, energetic, spontaneous and memorable. We wanted “A Beautiful Thing” to share this excitement and energy and we really feel we’ve done exactly that. We hope that people can tune into the buzz we create on streaming platforms so they get a taste of our live performances!

3. "Your sound combines elements of Jeff Buckley, Zeppelin, and Math Rock, with a unique alt-rock twist. How do you balance these diverse influences while creating something distinctly your own?"

As we all have a broad taste in music, and live in an age of unlimited accessibility to music from all over the world, we use these factors as an advantage to create a melting pot of sounds to call Die Twice. We are heavily inspired by music, cultures, frequencies and writings from all over the world, which we feel is vital to our evolving and unique sound.

4. "Your previous EP, 'An Interaction with Rum,' was well-received. How would you say your sound or approach has evolved on 'A Beautiful Thing' compared to your past work?"

“An Interaction, With Rum” was a big step in our journey as a band and was a benchmark for that time. However, since then we’ve had a dynamic change in the band with less and new members. But this has proven to develop our sound so much more and we’ve created music we’re incredibly proud of. We can’t wait to see what the future holds as we improve together as a strong four piece!

5. "With support from BBC Introducing and XFM, you're gaining recognition across the UK scene. How does it feel to see your fanbase and industry support grow, and what impact do you hope this EP will have on your journey?"

It is incredibly surreal to watch our band progress in the industry and to see fans emerge and support us all over the country. We are insanely grateful for the love we’ve received and the help along the way. We really feel 2025 is going to be our best year yet and we can’t wait to expand our music, our connections and our deepest love for what we do!
