Introducing: BLEACH

Bleach is redefining post-rock with a sound that’s both nostalgic and fiercely modern. Blending the raw emotional energy of the '90s with dreamy textures, punchy riffs, and evocative lyrics, they create music that lingers long after the last note. Drawing comparisons to Wolf Alice, Fontaines D.C., and Deftones, Bleach delivers a hypnotic mix of vulnerability and power—both in the studio and on stage. Their live performances are an electrifying experience, pulling audiences into a whirlwind of intensity and emotion.

1. Your sound blends dreamy textures with punchy riffs and evocative lyrics. What’s your creative process like when writing a new song?

It usually starts with a feeling, something that lingers in the back of our minds, whether it’s a riff, a melody, or even just a phrase that sticks. We’ll build around that, layering textures and letting the song take shape naturally. usually it’s Jamie (Guitar) who puts its all together and creates a demo. We love contrasts, light and heavy, soft and raw, so it’s always about finding that balance. Lyrically, we pull from personal experiences but keep things open-ended, so listeners can interpret them in their own way.

2. You’ve drawn comparisons to bands like Wolf Alice, Fontaines D.C., and Deftones. How do you balance these influences while maintaining a sound that’s uniquely Bleach?

It’s always cool to hear those comparisons, but we don’t really think about them when we’re writing. We take inspiration from a lot of different places, but everything gets filtered through our own emotions and experiences. We love big, immersive sounds, but we also love raw, punchy energy so it’s about finding a way to blend the two in a way that feels like us. At the end of the day, we just make music that feels right and trust that it’ll have its own identity.

3. Your live shows are described as a hypnotic mix of vulnerability and power. How do you approach performing to create that experience for your audience?

Playing live is everything to us. It’s the moment where we can completely let go, and we want the audience to feel that too. There are moments in our set that are really intimate and raw, and others that hit like a wave. We want people to feel something, whether it’s getting lost in the music, finding an emotional release, or just having a moment where the outside world disappears. It’s all about creating a space where people can connect, not just with us, but with each other.

4. Rock is constantly evolving—where do you see the genre heading, and how do you see Bleach fitting into that future?

Rock has always been about pushing boundaries, and that’s what makes it exciting. It’s blending with so many different genres now and that keeps it fresh. We see ourselves fitting into that evolution by staying open to new sounds and ideas while keeping that raw, emotional core intact. As long as rock music keeps evolving and challenging expectations, it’ll always have a place.

5. If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, to push your sound even further, who would it be and why?

So many come to mind, but working with Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) would be insane, just the way he builds layers and textures would take our sound to a whole other level. Ellie Rowsell (Wolf Alice) would be amazing too, bringing in her lyrical genius and ways of telling a story while keeping the audience captivated. But honestly, we love the idea of unexpected collaborations, sometimes the most interesting stuff comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.
