FOCUS Wales 2024 Conference Returns: A Global Gathering in Wrexham



Wrexham, Wales, is gearing up for the 14th edition of the highly anticipated FOCUS Wales music industry conference, set to unfold from May 9th to 11th, 2024. As Wales' newest city, Wrexham proudly takes the spotlight as the host of Wales' largest showcase festival and conference, drawing international attention in the process.


Spearheaded by Creative Wales, the FOCUS Wales conference is poised to welcome more than 400 music industry professionals from across the globe. Noteworthy participants include PRS Foundation, PPL, PRS for Music, British Council, Arts Councils, and various export agencies. Creative Wales, a key supporter of the conference, has been pivotal in advancing the creative industries in Wales since its establishment in 2020.


Recognized globally as a vital meeting point, the FOCUS Wales Music Conference facilitates crucial conversations and developmental discussions within the music industry. This three-day event offers unparalleled networking opportunities for Welsh freelancers, international industry professionals, and artists spanning diverse musical genres.

The 2024 FOCUS Wales Music Conference boasts a robust program featuring over 40 panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and networking events, all centered around the overarching theme of shaping the future of the music industry. Neal Thompson, Co-founder of FOCUS Wales and conference programmer, anticipates a forward-looking program that reflects Wales' modern and diverse musical landscape.


Already drawing an impressive lineup of delegates, this year's attendees include representatives from Secretly Group, Sky, Glastonbury, Domino Records, WOMEX, Other Voices, DHP Family, DMZ Peace Train Festival, and SPIKE Showcase. Organisations such as PPL, PRS Foundation, PRS for Music, Musicians Union, and Live will also be in attendance. In conjunction with the conference, FOCUS Wales has announced the first 100+ live acts for the 2024 music festival, featuring prominent names such as Spiritualized, The Royston Club, The Mysterines, Deerhoof, Skinny Pelembe, Snapped Ankles, The Bug Club, Willy Mason, Benefits, Angeline Morrison, Flamingods, Adwaith, Cerys Hafana, and Melin Melyn.
