Come Play With Me Unveils 'Side By Side V3' Compilation

Get ready for the third installment of Come Play With Me's 'Side By Side' compilation series, a powerful call to support artists from underrepresented backgrounds in Leeds and the North of England.

This remarkable album features a diverse lineup of 10 new tracks, showcasing the incredible talents of artists like the high-flying indie-pop group Komparrison from Teesside, Ghanaian Afrobeat sensation Massimo Youngblood, synth-pop duo Babes In Love, emerging trip-hop artist NIVVES, and the soulful R&B sounds of Shantelle King. Set for release on January 19, 2024, the album will be available digitally and on limited vinyl through the CPWM website and various online streaming platforms.

The first single from the compilation is brought to you by Yasmina, also known as Sunkissed Child. Hailing from Lebanon and currently based in Leeds and London, Yasmina weaves her life experiences, cultures, and languages into her music, drawing inspiration from Neo-soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, and her Middle Eastern heritage.

Since her debut single in 2022, Sunkissed Child has gained significant recognition from industry figures like Emily Pilbeam on BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire, Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music, and Jamz Supernova on Selector Radio. Her second single, 'Monday Grind,' even reached the Official Lebanese Top 20, making her one of the youngest independent artists to achieve this in the region.

Her latest release, 'What You Say,' is a raw and introspective track that explores uncertainties and unspoken desires in the context of vulnerable self-discovery. Composed during her early days in the UK, the heartfelt song delves into the nostalgia of young love, brought to life by tender bass chords and delicate production. Yasmina's thoughtful lyrics encourage you to contemplate the "maybes" and "what-ifs" that arise when two souls connect.

'Side By Side V3' receives support from Arts Council England, The National Lottery Social Enterprise Support Fund, and PRS Foundation. You can preorder the album now, and it's slated for release on January 19, 2024.
