Cardinals' latest offering, "Nineteen," a sub-two-minute adrenaline rush primed to captivate listeners. Premiered by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, this track showcases Cardinals at their most direct, delivering a brief yet immediately memorable experience.

Frontman Euan Manning sheds light on the song's genesis, stating, "Nineteen came from a desire to write a song that was shorter than two minutes. It was written very quickly in a practice session but was about four minutes originally, so we whittled it down to the 1 minute and 53 seconds you hear now." Manning's lyrics, simple yet striking, offer a glimpse into the band's raw energy and infectious creativity.

As anticipation builds for their self-titled debut EP, set to drop on June 7th via So Young Records, Cardinals tease fans with a taste of what's to come. Manning describes the EP as "pop music at its core, personal, youthful, and, if you can see past the chaos and noise, extremely warm." With a narrative waiting to be uncovered, this collection of songs reflects the band's journey while living and performing in Cork City.

The EP will hit shelves in a limited edition 12" Cream vinyl format, with a Rough Trade exclusive edition featuring both vinyl and a lyric booklet. In addition to "Nineteen," listeners can also delve into Cardinals' previously released tracks, including "If I Could Make You Care" and "Unreal," each offering a unique glimpse into the band's multifaceted sound.

Having earned praise from industry heavyweights like Fontaines D.C.'s Grian Chatten and critical acclaim from outlets like The Sunday Times and Rolling Stone UK, Cardinals are set to take the music scene by storm. Currently embarking on their first headline tour of the UK & Ireland, including a performance at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, the band is poised for greatness.
