Bakey Drops Hypnotic New Single ‘Backrooms’ via Warehouse Project Records

UK bass music heavyweight Bakey is back with a haunting new club weapon. Today (21st March), he unveils ‘Backrooms’—the first single from his debut EP on Warehouse Project Records.
Blurring the lines between dark garage, dubby minimalism, and eerie soundscapes, ‘Backrooms’ is a hypnotic journey into shadowy rave energy. Drawing influence from Burial and soundsystem culture, the track fuses pulsating basslines, warped vocal samples, and vibrant synth stabs to create an atmosphere that is both haunting and irresistible.
Speaking about the EP, Bakey shares:
"I wanted to do some proper club tracks. Writing 'Wouldn't Believe' felt more like crafting a song, but with ‘Backrooms’, I wanted to explore the darker, more stripped-back side of my sound."
The full Backrooms EP lands on 4th April, with a steady rollout of tracks to build the hype:
21st March – ‘Backrooms’ (Single Release)
28th March – ‘Under Control’ (Single Release)
4th April – ‘Don’t Stop’ (+ Full EP Release)
Coinciding with the EP drop, Bakey is set to take over Phonox in London for a month-long headline residency every Friday in April. He’ll be joined by an all-star lineup of underground legends, including Champion, Reek0, Dismantle, Zed Bias, and Breaka—promising a high-energy run of nights that will further cement his reputation as a defining force in the UK club scene.
‘Backrooms’ is out now on Warehouse Project Records. Expect more deep, immersive bass journeys as Bakey’s star continues to rise.
