Back To Basics Set To Return This Weekend

Leeds nightlife is synonymous with Back To Basics, it's the club night that saw Leeds leapfrog the likes of Berlin to be at the forefront of dance music, a status earned for it's truly iconic line-up's, devoted followers and ability to always go two steps further that any other fucker. There's just a few days to wait until the Back To Basics 29th birthday live stream, which will be going out on Saturday night live on Facebook and another platform which they'll announce on Wednesday. It's an event that will see the club night welcome back it's closest friends, resident DJ's and ever loyal followers. It's a much needed reminder of the importance of music and it's ability to bring us together, whether it's in the form of a club night or a live stream.

Dave Beer, the man behind Europe's longest running club night took to social media to announce the event, "We're buzzing to have one of Back To Basics' closest friends in for the stream this weekend, Claudio Coccoluto, who has played at every club since we opened back in 91. We've always had a massive connection with the Italians as much as we have had with anyone else in the world. It's amazing to have him on board and we can't wait. He's the godfather of Italian house and is a massive record collector with over 70,000 in his collection. Not sure how he's going to fit them all into an hour."

"We'll of course be joined by some of the Basics rezzies including Tristan Da Cunha, Frenchy and Gas House Kids and we've also brought in some old friends from the past including Lee Wright who used to be a resident for us at The Pleasure Rooms, also a number of people who have grown up with the club including Carl Corey, Josh Demello and Sara Garvey. There might be a few more guests added to the lineup so stay tuned!"

You can tune in this weekend, via Facebook or Mixcloud.
