Baby Said: From Busking Streets to Playing Festival Stages

What started as a summer of busking in 2021 quickly transformed into something much bigger for Baby Said. After cutting their teeth in local venues as AstroModa, the sisters built a reputation through 250+ gigs across the UK, sharpening their skills and igniting their passion for original music. Fast forward to March 2023, and a partnership with Big Hug Management set the wheels in motion for their next chapter—recording their debut album with Patch Boshell and Steven Battelle.

Bringing their raw rock energy to life, Baby Said recorded live drums, bass, and guitars at Puzzle Factory, ensuring every track captured the spirit of the band they aspire to be. With tracks like Mean Girlz, Dead to Me, and Hate Me already proving their punch, the band is now riding a wave of momentum.

Fresh off supporting Dirty Honey on tour, festival slots at The Great Escape, Reading & Leeds, Live At Leeds, and more, and a House of Commons performance, Baby Said is solidifying their place as one of the UK’s most exciting new rock acts. The journey is just getting started.

Your debut album BS is all about finding the power to speak up and inspiring others to do the same. What personal experiences or themes shaped the record?

Feelings of pressure, anger, hope (in our track Burn) and feeling fed up with certain events we have experienced in our lives ,so far, have helped to shape the record which is what makes it feel empowering to us as we say it how it is.

You both started playing music at such a young age, with different musical journeys leading to Baby Said. How do your individual influences and styles complement each other when writing and performing?

Veronica has done grade 8 in acoustic guitar so she knows all of the technical terms whereas I (Jess) listen to things that catch my ear, what sounds good and what doesn’t quite work. I write lyrics and melody and we work on the music together. Veronica works on layering up her guitars and making sure that they all flow with the music.

You've already had support from BBC Radio 1, played major festivals like Reading & Leeds, and even toured with Dirty Honey. What have been the biggest lessons or standout moments from these experiences?

When people from the audience came up to us at the end to tell us that we have converted them into a fan- it’s so rewarding to know that people are enjoying out creations that we’ve worked so hard on.

 4. Måneskin clearly played a big role in your musical journey, even inspiring your band name. What is it about their music and energy that resonates with you, and do they influence your sound?

We loved how energetic and free they looked and sounded- they made us feel something different and inspired us to jump all into our passion. You may hear them influence our sound through some guitar tones and the slight rawness we try to maintain.

With BS dropping in March and so much momentum behind you, what’s next for Baby Said in 2025? More touring, new music, or anything unexpected?

Lots of gigs and festivals in 2025 which include SXSW in America, James and The Cold Gun tour, a very big festival in June that we can’t tell you about just yet and recording the difficult second album!

Of course! Playtime and religious obligations should be balanced. Observing Auqat E Namaz ensures that as children spend their time gambling on the streets, they also develop an addiction to praying on time. Instilling subject and spirituality in children at a young age is facilitated by encouraging them to stop playing activities for Salah. They acquire time management skills and the value of religion in day-to-day life by adhering to Auqat E Namaz.
