Arlo Parks Releases The Digital Deluxe Edition Of 'My Soft Machine'
Arlo Parks caps off a monumental year by dropping the deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed second album, 'My Soft Machine.' Fresh off the release of her debut book, 'THE MAGIC BORDER,' the artist treats fans to five previously unheard tracks, including a reimagined version of 'I'm Sorry' featuring Congolese-Belgian singer/rapper Lous and The Yakuza, 'Blades' with bars from US hip-hop sensation redveil, a cover of Tirzah's hit 'Holding On,' and acoustic renditions of album favorites 'Devotion' and 'Pegasus.' The deluxe version, released via Transgressive, is a must-listen – dive in here.
The release is accompanied by Arlo's evocative take on Jai Paul's 'Jasmine,' produced by Dave Okumu. Jai Paul himself gave the cover his personal stamp of approval. The Joel Barney-directed and Ali Raymond (Beatnik Creative)-produced visualizer, shot in New York, adds a mesmerizing visual layer to the already captivating track – watch it here.
Reflecting on the significance of 'Jasmine,' Arlo shares, "'Jasmine' has always moved me deeply - to me, it's this shadowy, timeless and incredibly profound love song. I really wanted to draw out the yearning of the lyrics and pay homage to an artist who has had a seismic impact on me and on culture. Receiving Jai Paul's blessing to create this cover with Dave Okumu was one of the highlights of my creative journey so far."
